OLIVIA COLE
ABOUT
Olivia Cole is a director, writer, and dramaturg based in London and formerly in Berlin.
​
Her theatre work has been performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Royal Shakespeare Company's Dell Summer Stage, Riverside Studios, Pleasance Theatre, and the White Bear Theatre. In Germany, her plays were performed at Theater Verlängertes Wohnzimmer and 800A Theatre. She has been the artistic director of Berlin Open Theatre since 2022 (currently on hiatus). Berlin Open Theatre is a theatre collective composed of English-speaking performers based in Berlin. The mission is to create work that is inspiring, meaningful, and deeply relevant to contemporary international audiences.

Her film work has been screened at Shorts on Tap (London), the Harris Museum (Lancashire), Leamington Underground Cinema (Warwickshire), and Nightpiece Film Festival (Edinburgh). She is also a social video native, having worked in production, creative, and strategy roles for Little Dot Studios, Quintus Studios, and MoviePilot.

Her creative work has received funding and resources from the O2 Think Big programme, Dezentrale Kulturarbeit Tempelhof-Schöneberg, Shakespeare Reloaded e.V, and the Lord Rootes Memorial Fund.

Olivia is currently studying for an MA in Directing under the tutelage of Katie Mitchell. At present, she is shadowing Mitchell's 'The Makropulos Case' at the Royal Opera House in London.
